A Prince and a Saviour

By Bible Names of God

"Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour" Acts 5:30, 31

Here is a picture and a theme for our meditation. A convict -a criminal in the sight of men -hanging on a tree, dying an awful death of shame, suffering the agonies of hell itself that the question of sinful man's sin might be settled forever -exalted by God to the highest heights -a Prince! But to establish His title He became the Sinbearer that He might become the Sin-blotter. Destined to deepest depths of human suffering and humility, but raised to the highest heights of honor and glory. Oh, the wretchedness of our sin which demanded it, and the wonders of a Saviour which delivered it!

Lord Jesus, our Prince and our Saviour, we yield ourselves to Thee with glad hearts. Amen.
